GLENRAC Focus - Native Fauna

Our frogs need your help!

A rare chance to meet one of the country’s leading frog experts – Dr Jodi Rowley as she introduces FrogID.

FrogID is Australia’s first national frog count that will help safeguard the future of this threatened species.

You may have seen the recent national media coverage about the FrogID mobile app, developed by IBM, that’s being touted as ‘Shazam for frogs’.

GLENRAC will host monthly information events starting on the 18th January 2018. The events will be held on the third Thursday of each month.

The first event will be held on Thursday 18th January at the Glen Innes & District Services Club commencing at 7:00pm. Our guest speaker will be Dr. Jodi Rowley from the Australian Museum. Jodi is the Curator of Amphibian & Reptile Conservation Biology at the Australian Museum and UNSW Australia.

Jodi will talk about the current research project looking for the Peppered Tree frog (Litoria piperata) in our region and the recently released FrogID app.
